The Foster's Australian Grand Prix is the season opener for the 2004 Formula One Grand Prix season. The rules for the race weekend are slightly changed for this year. The biggest difference being that each driver has to use the same engine throughout the weekend. One change is that the two qualifying sessions that are held on Saturday afternoon back to back instead of being spread between Friday and Saturday. Another change allows the teams finishing 5th or lower in last year's championship fielding a 3rd driver for the practice sessions.

Unfortunately, I was not attending this race with a Media Pass (which would have allowed me the privilege of some press information), but rather as a guest of Fosters, the primary sponsor of the Australian Grand Prix. This experience on its own was unforgettable, as this meant I was covering the race from the Foster's Chicane Skybox in Turn 1. As an F1 spectator and fan, it was exciting and a fantastic privilege to have a great location, great food and not to forget the Fosters Hostesses (more on that later).
