In the run-up to one of the season's biggest NASCAR races, the Daytona 500, NASCAR has been smacking teams around left and right for rules infractions. The latest to grab headlines is Michael Waltrip Racing, one of Toyota's eight teams that are fielding Camrys in this year's Nextel Cup Racing series.

NASCAR Vice President of Competition Robin Pemberton alleges that an illegal fuel additive was found inside the engine of Waltrip Racing's #55 Camry. At this time there is no confirmation to the rumors of a 12-20% increase in fuel economy and a 20hp increase, nor has there been any confirmation to other rumors that a "Tornado" device was located in the Camry's intake tract.

Pemberton was quick to point out that this incident was solely a fault of the team's, and had nothing to do with Toyota or TRD. According to a story on SpeedTV.com, Jim Aust, TRD’s President and CEO, said “Toyota certainly does not condone actions such as these by any of our NASCAR team partners,” Aust said. “Toyota is a company that was built on integrity and that remains one of the guiding principles of the company.”

According to scientists, that's so much integrity, they're liable to exceed their quota! Easy, Toyota. It might be a good idea for you guys to ease off on the integrity for a little while, before things get out of hand. Kidding aside, in this case, Toyota may very well be completely innocent, but their track record and so-called "integrity" is questionable at best.
