Jacobs Ignition Review
From: Dan Ponze
I purchased the Jacobs Ignition Omni-Magnum recently. There is also an Omni Team which is essentially similar and cheaper but only goes to 6800 RPM. The Omni-Magnum goes to 10500 RPM, thus it was necessary for my GSR. Also there is an Omni-Team, which is a lot more money and only gives you a couple extra things (namely starter kill and some diagnostic L.E.D.'s), in a two chassis package. The Omni-Magnum is an ignition amplifier and external coil all in one chassis. This makes it extremely difficult to mount inside the very crowded engine bay of newer Integras. The system also comes with 8.5 mm wires and self tapping screws to secure it. It comes in a cool blue anodized finish. For the Integra application, the distributor cap had to be modified much like that for the MSD except that Jacobs did it for free (just send it in). Also there is a secondary trigger necessary for this application but its tiny and can be mounted anywhere.

Install was idiot proof, except don't be an idiot like me and yank out the old wires before checking the firing order. There is a power, ground and the two connection to bypass the coil. I think it took me longer to change my plugs which are now NGK ZFR6F-11's set at 0.065 gap. This is one heat range cooler than stock non-VTEC Integras and work pretty good. Once installed, this system worked wonders for my low end torque which suffered after my air intake was installed. It revs faster and makes quite a noticeable difference. High-end is also improved and gets more fierce with every modification. This will probably help your low-end torque more than any other bolt on modification. It improved drivability substantially. I highly recommend this system.
