Please allow me to ask this question:

You're about to pull the trigger on an NSX. Before you are two identically equipped and priced cars - one with a Honda badge and the other with an Acura badge - which one would you choose?

I think that actually happened with the Legend in Russia!

It's dangerous to imagine myself living in the USDM without really living there any more, but I'd take the Honda badge. Partly out of heritage, but also because I'd not want to be associated with such a weird clusterfuck as Acura right now. Sort of how the once-prestigious 'Rover' brand came to be spelled 'Loser'.

If the Acura dealer gave a better service (service, not blingy showrooms) then I'd be swayed otherwise.

I do possess an Acura keyring, for easier ID/novelty value. Does that count?

I'd take the Acura. Especially when dropped flat on the hood, rather than on the grille, I think its the best emblem out there. Too bad it stands for such a crappy division.

Easy Acura. Come on, the original NSX in the U.S. was an Acura. Acura's problem is not Honda mainstream category, its problem is the category that it is in now... or at least trying to do, sometimes successfully sometimes not.

Look Honda needs to put resources into the brand simple as that, until they make a concerted effort from top to bottom instead of cherry picking here and there it will not be the full-fledged luxury brand.

Personally, I choose the Honda. Reason being, I think the "H" has more racing heritage attached...

I thought most people here would de-badge it. Isn't that what they do?

haa I converted my 2g TL-s to Honda inspire back then....

I'd do it just to make it a little bit more unique.

Acura.

150-200K cars sold under mainstream brands don't work or sell in the US, they don't really work in other markets either as the Honda NSX was not a big seller in Japan or Europe despite being so good and revolutionary at the time, neither are most Honda badged Acura cars in other markets.

H badge, because Vtec just kicked in yo! Was first to be felt in a Honda motorcycle and then for us at least in EU in the CRX and Civic's Vtec.

But for the neighbors and don't care but just want to know if it s expensive or not, the Acura

Try to Google translate from English to Spanish TL Acura (te la cura), means kind of it will heal your pain....

Something like sing and do not cry, or French for 'ça va le faire !'

Funny but out of the blue, (no more bourbon for me... OK just 2 or 3 fingers and I stop... for today)

I'm having flashbacks to the mess that Honda was kicked out of by BMW called British Leyland. It became Austin Rover, with Austin as the Honda and Rover as the Acura. Then they killed off Austin.

Then the marketplace killed off Rover because its cars were crap.

All that is left is Land Rover, Jaguar (owed by Tata) and MINI owned by BMW.

Indeed - Honda seems to have learned a lot about making executive cars from Rover...back then.

Certainly, re-badging the Austins as Rovers was the start of the wrecking of Rover - once an illustrious brand.

Maybe Honda could learn that too, and if they want to continue with Acura, do something properly with it? Or else, kick it in the head.

FWIW, I always thought that this might have been a better design direction for Acura to develop:

It was a little too 'Honda' for a Rover, but was quite a pretty car.
