Sources: Announcement of Honda's F1 Return is Imminent

Reuters and several Japanese news outlets are reporting that HHonda President Takanobu Ito is set to announce Honda's return to F1 competition, and word is that the announcement is likely coming within a matter of hours now (Thursday, Tokyo time).
Rumors of Honda's return to F1 racing have been circulating for several months now, with the strongest rumors linking them to an engine supplier deal with the McLaren team for the 2015 season. McLaren currently fields a pair of cars powered by Mercedes-Benz. Jenson Button and Sergio Pérez are McLaren's current drivers.
Honda pulled out of F1 following the 2008 season. A return to F1 in 2015 would signal a strong push back into motorsports by Honda, and would coincide with the rebirth of their next generation NSX supercar, which will feature hybrid technology. F1 engine regulations call for turbocharged 1.6L V6 "power units" featuring KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) and TERS (Thermal Energy Recovery System) beginning in the 2014 season. Acura has announced a V6 engine is destined for their new NSX, and there have been rumors suggesting it will likely be turbocharged, so one could imagine the potential marketing linkups between the resurrection of both Honda's F1 efforts and their vaunted NSX supercar.
