Join us later this afternoon where we hope to bring timely updates from the Honda event in the Big Apple.
We should be getting our first look at the new Civic 5-door. There will apparently be some motorsports news from Honda as well.
Update: Well, it turns out we were really only able to post "timely" updates to our Twitter feed this afternoon, but here's a quick rundown of the news that was revealed:
Civic 5-door is coming "later this year"
Civic 5-door base engine will be 1.5T. The 5-door will be positioned as the most "upscale" Civic version.
Once again, Honda announced that the 6MT would be offered with the 1.5T engines, but this time they promised that you'll be able to get the 1.5T/6MT combo in all 3 Civic body styles.
Honda will field an AWD 600+hp Civic Coupe in the Red Bull Global Rally Cross (GRC) series
This GRC Civic can hit 60mph in under 2.0seconds.
The engine is bespoke, as is the AWD system, (so don't go dreaming about a road version of this car)
The GRC Civic will be fielded by Team Olsbergs MSE, and driven by Sebastian Eriksson and Yo-Nee Weeman
Honda announced that the 15th Anniversary 2016 Civic Tour would be headlined by Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas
Honda also announced a "Buy 2, get 2 Free" promo for the first week of Civic Tour sales
