It's been a few years since we've posted one of these "Spring Cleaning" features, and a lot of things have happened in the mean time. Following a few relatively quiet years, Honda has turned up the wick quite a bit and there is plenty to discuss for the 2016 calendar year.

The information below is what we know or have heard at this moment. There's a possibility that we've received bad information or that the timing or details will change, and as we receive more refined information, we will update this page, so be sure to check back periodically.

Honda

	Accord The 9th generation Accord launched in the 2013 model year, and received its MMC for the 2016 model year, so we're not expecting any major changes to most of the Accord trims, although we recently heard something about an Accord Sport SE trim level. At this point all that we've heard about it is that it will be "leather based, with heated seats, red stitching, and a unique Sport logo". Also, you may remember that the Accord Hybrid took a brief hiatus from the Accord lineup for the 2016 model year. As we've previously reported, it's making a return for the 2017 model year with a next-generation i-MMD powertrain. The updated i-MMD powertrain develops more power, delivers more EV range, better performance, and better fuel economy than the outgoing version. Watch For: The 10th generation Accord is coming in the 2018 Model Year. It will share its architecture with the brilliant new 2016 Civic. Available: Accord Hybrid goes on sale in the coming weeks. Other 2017 models should start arriving in mid-late summer. The 10th-gen Accord FMC is expected in late spring/early summer 2017.
	Civic The 10th generation Civic launch is by no means constrained to a singular calendar event. There are actually FIVE separate Civic model introductions and so far we're at the 40% mark on the progress meter. The 10th gen Civic sedan bowed first, in the fall of 2015. Chapter 2 of the 10th gen Civic saga starred the 2016 Civic Coupe, which just went on sale last month. Next up, we have a 5-door version of the Civic coming, and we've just heard that it will be hitting showrooms in mid- to late summer of this year, as a 2017 model. We're told that it will be positioned as the most "premium" Civic model, so the base engine will be the 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that's only available in the higher trim levels of the Civic Sedan and Civic Coupe models. Further down the road, we will see chapter 4 of the Civic saga unfold with the Civic Si (to be offered only in coupe and sedan formats), and the final chapter will be the mighty Civic Type R, which will be offered exclusively as a 5-door. In other (great) news, you'll be able to buy a 2017 Civic with the 1.5L Turbocharged 4-cylinder engine in any of its 3 body styles with a 6-speed manual transmission Summary: The epic saga of the 10th generation Civic launch concludes in the next 12 months or so with the 5-door, Si, and Type R models finding their way into showrooms. Also, for the 2017 model year, the 6MT 1.5T can be had in all 3 body styles. Available: Civic 5-door hits showrooms around mid to late summer 2016. Watch For: Civic Si will hopefully be available in late Fall of 2016, with the Civic Type R hitting the streets around the Spring of 2017.
	Clarity To this point, the Clarity has been a hyper-exclusive model in the lineup. In order to lease one of the very few Claritys that ever reached private hands, you had to fit a very specific profile, and live in very specific geographic coordinates. The new Clarity will change that, to an extent, but only because you will soon be able to get a Clarity in one of three flavors: Clarity Fuel Cell (FCEV), Clarity Electric (BEV), and Clarity Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV). The FCEV will initially be offered in select California markets later this year. The BEV will be introduced in 2017 in yet-to-be announced markets, and later in 2017, the PHEV Clarity will be sold in all 50 states. Honda has engineered the PHEV Clarity to be able to travel over 40 miles on pure electric power before requiring assistance from the onboard gasoline engine. The fuel-cell version has a range of over 300 miles and refills can be achieved in three to five minutes. Summary: The new Clarity covers all of the bases when it comes to alternative fuel vehicle technology: Fuel Cell, BEV, and PHEV Watch For: More details on Clarity BEV Available: FCEV - late 2016. 	CR-V The 4th generation CR-V has been on the road since 2011. It's time for an FMC, and an FMC is indeed coming this fall. At this point, not much is known about the next generation CR-V, but we have seen some spy shots. We do know that the new CR-V will be based on the same architecture that underpins the new Civics and the upcoming Accord. We are expecting to see Honda move the needle a bit more with the 5th generation CR-V than what the 4th generation represented. As such, look for some new drivetrain options, likely including a turbocharged engine. We would also expect more comfort, more performance, more safety, and even better fuel economy. But then again, we always have high expectations. Summary: Honda's top selling vehicle is due for an update, and we expect to see some solid upgrades. Watch For: Will the CR-V get a version of the turbocharged 2.0? Or will that engine be "saved" for an Acura application? Available:Late fall 2016
	CR-Z The CR-Z received a styling update for the 2016 Model Year (a sort of mini-MMC), but there wasn't a lot of fanfare surrounding it. As far as we know, there weren't even any 2016 CR-Zs that ever materialized in our local Honda press fleet. With the CR-Z selling in such low numbers, and considering how long the CR-Z has been on the road, we don't expect any further updates, and in fact we wonder how much longer it will be produced. Summary: Nothing much to report here. If Honda wants to make this concept work, if there's a next generation CR-Z, it will need to up the excitement factor by a large amount in order to make any noise in the US marketplace Available: Vague
	Fit The 3rd generation Fit launched 2 years ago as a 2015 model. With an MMC due for the 2018 Model year, look for few changes to the 2017 model. Summary: MMC due next year, so few changes for 2017. Watch For: Will there ever be a sportier version of the Fit? Perhaps with the 1.5T and a 6MT? We sure hope so. Available: MY17: mid-summer 2016, MMC in spring of 2017
	HR-V Honda's Fit-based CUV launched last year as a 2016 model. We absolutely love it, but we do wish there was a more powerful engine offered. It's our understanding that there will be one, but it sounds like we'll have to wait for the MMC in a few years. Most likely this more powerful engine will come in the form of a 1.5T. Summary: Changes are minimal until the MMC, which should happen in MY19. Watch For: More power in store, but you'll have to wait a couple years for the MMC Available: Mid-summer 2016
	Odyssey The Odyssey is due for its FMC, but we don't know a lot about it yet. There have been several sets of spy shots that have circulated, but the Odyssey is so heavily bagged in these photos, there are essentially no details revealed by the spy shots. Honda folks are tight-lipped on it as well, but they do seem very confident that it will be a very strong competitor. The Odyssey will almost certainly get an updated V6 with direct injection and around 280hp. It's also rumored to be getting the all-new Honda designed 10-speed automatic transmission, but that may be reserved for the upper trim levels. Summary: FMC coming this year. 	Pilot The 3rd generation Pilot was introduced as a 2016 model, so don't expect any major changes. We're guessing that Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support will be added. Summary: All new in 2016, don't expect any big changes for MY2017 Available: Mid-summer 2016

	S2000 Sadly, there's no S2000 coming in the next 12 months, but there are rumors that Honda is working on one. We've heard numerous rumors concerning the form that the S2000 will take. We'll come back and update this entry as we learn more. Summary: The S2000 is rumored to make a comeback, mabye in the next 2-3 years Available: Late 2017-Early 2018?
