The photogs at SpiedBilde have caught a 2019 Pilot undergoing some testing. As you can see, the refresh is pretty mild, and appears to be limited to some refreshing of the front fascia as well as revised taillights.
SpiedBilde thinks the Pilot will be getting a hybrid option this year, and they seem to think it will be based upon the Accord's iMMD powertrain. It's possible that it does use some form of i-MMD (Honda's two motor hybrid system, which has no traditional transmission), but we are skeptical that the 2.0L version would be sufficient for the Pilot or Odyssey.
Today we caught the first shots of the 2019 Honda Pilot.
The refreshed Pilot will adapt styling cues from the recently on-sale Accord and Odyssey. Up front, expect to see a more aggressive lower front fascia, new grille, and a revised set of LED headlights. Around back, look for the taillights to crib the Accord, along with a revised tailgate and lower rear fascia.
The Pilot is expected to add a hybrid or plug-in hybrid option for 2019 that will be shared with the Odyssey. This system will be a version of the two-motor hybrid powertrain currently used in the Accord Hybrid. Base power should still come from the 3.5L V6 DI.
Expect to see the 2019 Honda Pilot later this year. |
