Marketing Factory Ink Press Release
Shawn and I went to a Civic Tour concert courtesy of Honda a few years back in LA at the old Forum. We had a great time. The customized Civic Coupe they are giving away certainly looks like something out of "Pimp My Ride", but if I was 18 again, I would certainly like to own it! :-) The car specs are at: http://www.civictour.com/the_custom_civic/details.asp The full press release is below.
VENICE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 19, 2004--One of the hottest concert tours has come to an end -- Civic Tour featuring Dashboard Confessional. From nightly crowd sing-a-longs to 10 fans so far winning fully customized Dashboard Confessional Honda Civics, this year's Civic Tour has proved to be a box office and audience success, and continues to keep concertgoers involved.
Fans still have one last shot at winning the final customized DC Civic through the "Drive Away With Dashboard Confessional" national online sweepstakes at http://www.civictour.com. Contest ends on September 2, 2004 and is open to licensed drivers 18 and older.
"Being on this tour allowed us to play bigger venues and reach more fans with an inexpensive ticket price, which we couldn't have done without Honda's support," said Chris Carrabba of Dashboard Confessional. Carrabba adds, "It ended up being the best tour we've done thus far."
Civic Tour introduced something new this year by offering free music downloads on the tour's website. Music lovers can still download three free exclusive live recordings of "Hands Down," "Screaming Infidelities" and "The Sharp Hint of New Tears" until mid-December at http://www.civictour.com.
Civic Tour fans can also get in the mix and support their favorite act by offering their pick for the 2005 Civic Tour band on http://www.civictour.com.
Over its four-year history, Civic Tour has helped breaking artists gain momentum by bringing their music to the masses. Civic Tour has supported credible and fun bands from the first year with blink-182, to Incubus to last year's co-headliners Good Charlotte and New Found Glory. 2004's headliner, Dashboard Confessional, can be counted as another success story, with the band's latest single "Vindicated" blowing up the charts as part of the "Spider-Man 2" soundtrack. The band experienced concert ticket sales at their highest point to date; 13 shows were sell-outs.
Once again, Civic Tour proved to be a success, giving fans not only a night of amazing live music, but also cementing the brand "Civic Tour." Whether it is t-shirts, venue marquees, http://www.civictour.com, the interactive Civic Tour Non-Stop Music Lounge -- the name, the customized cars and the logo have definitely established the Civic Tour brand as a credible and valuable channel to reach music lovers across the country. Civic Tour is a unique promotion where music fans can catch their favorite acts at a great low ticket price.
