Sales of All-New Accord, Light Trucks, Pace American Honda Increase

September Sales Up Nearly 16 percent
Torrance, Calif. 10/01/2002 -- Led by a 15.2 percent increase in Accord sales and record September light truck sales, total America Honda September sales of 101,249 were up 15.9 percent from last year based on a daily selling rate, American Honda Motor Co., Inc., announced today.
Light truck sales were up 55.1 percent to 31,440. A 40.9 percent jump in Honda Odyssey sales to 12,021, combined with a 40.3 percent increase in Acura MDX sales to 3,753, paced the increase. CR-V sales were up 20.7 percent to 9,289 and the new Honda Pilot SUV added 6,327 sales.
Accord sales of 33,312 pushed the Honda Division monthly total to 89,253 an 18.4 percent increase from last year. Acura Division sales were up 0.3 percent on a daily selling rate to 11,996.
Year-to-date total American Honda sales of 945,767 are up 3.6 percent from last year's record setting pace.
