Following several days of testing at Catalunya (with precious few glimpses of the car in a few racing site photo galleries), Honda Racing F1 has finally released official photos and some details on the new chassis for the 2007 season.
Close followers of Honda's F1 program have been anticipating the launch of the RA107 since it will be the first chassis fully developed in HF1's new full-scale wind tunnel at their Brackley (UK) facility. Since re-entering Formula 1 in the 2000 season, Honda's F1 cars have seen periods of success and strong showings but have also struggled to consistently challenge the top tier teams. It's widely believed that the difference between the front runners and the Hondas has mostly been down to aero tuning. Until midway through last season, Honda was the only upper tier team that didn't have a full-scale wind tunnel for testing purposes. Honda claims to be able to test their aero models with far greater accuracy in the full-scale wind tunnel.
The 2007 Formula One season begins March 18 at the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.
