According to a story by Tony Lewin of Automotive News Europe, the CR-Z's engineering and styling are being shaped to the tastes of the European market, as that is where the car will make its first appearance in the marketplace. The CR-Z's launch window is said to fall within the late 2009/early 2010 timeframe.

The CR-Z's development team is said to be working in collaboration with the team that's developing the upcoming global small dedicated hybrid model, thus there's a strong likelihood that the CR-Z will likely use some components that are shared with the new global hybrid.

The article also states that Honda is said to be considering offering the CR-Z with a
conventional gasoline engine, but that decision will be dictated by market demands.

Honda UK manager of product planning Mark Turner is quoted as estimating the CR-Z's pricing at around 25000-28000 Euros.
