Overnight I received an email from one of our readers in Europe. He spotted photos of the 2012 CR-V design prototype on a "scoop" blog. They were tagged, so I did a bit of googling and found the originals in a European design patent filing. Though they are grayscale and of medium quality, they don't leave much to the imagination.

We don't know a lot about the 2012 CR-V, but here's a summary list of what we do know (or are at least pretty confident about)

• November/December 2011 On-sale date
  
• 2.4 and 2.5L engine options (according to Autoweek supplier chart). Larger engine will likely be shared with upcoming Crosstour 4-cylinder.
  
• 5-speed AT is most likely transmission offering, at least initially
  
• NO third row seating in North American market.
