NEW YORK (Reuters) - American Honda Motor Co. said Tuesday it will recall 486,000 Hondas and Acuras to repair ignition switches.
Honda set the recall to repair ignition switch interlocks, which prevent removal of the ignition key unless the shift lever is placed in the "park" position, the company said in a press release.
Some interlock levers may be improperly dimensioned, the company said, possibly allowing a driver to switch the ignition off and remove the key without putting the shift lever in the "Park" position.
