I was driving my S2000 in the Torrance area around 6:30 last night, and was waiting at a stop light to turn left. Then I see to my right what looks to be a TSX but with some obvious tape down the front and rear. I thought I recognized it, and either way knew it was a mule of some sort. I happened to have my laptop bag and personal camera next to me so I reached for it and pulled it out. By that time the car turned right and I tried to catch up with it and took pic 1. Unfortunately, I was a bit too obvious catching up to it and it spotted me. So it took off, but so did I and got next to it as far up as I could, pic 2. BTW, this is moderate early evening traffic on public streets. It slows down to turn right and I'm right behind it again. But then it tries to gun it again but its not like he could go anywhere on this street. This same thing happens a few more right turns and straights, pic 3, until it goes back into the rear entrance of the Honda campus.
The driver of the mule seemed a bit panicked and didn't want to pose for a pic unfortunately. I wasn't going to camp outside the gate to see if it would come out again, so I just left and went on my way from there.
Was it fast? Yeah, I guess. Honestly wasnt trying to drag race it, but I'm glad I was in my s2000 rather than my other car. I kept it at a safe distance (again, we're on public roads, neither the driver nor I was going to do anything stupid) so its not like I could time it. Unfortunately, I had the music on and windows and top up and I could only hear my own engine. |
